Hello BTTR friends,

does Microsoft still support Amiga freaks? Of course!
In a surprising move Microsoft allowed us to include the
golf simulations from Access Software, a company which
they acquired two years ago. Enjoy Leaderboard and World
Class Leaderboard! "Links" will come online soon, too.

Now you can ask yourself "Where do you want to play Golf
today?"

Please visit BTTR for a full list of all games which have
been added or you'll miss masterpieces like Realms,
Thexder, Mixed-Up Mother Goose, Super Skidmarks CD32 and
many others.

As usual many scene-demos, music files and pictures have
been added to our archive. Enjoy them all!

Hello BTTR friends,

we enjoyed the summer a bit, but now it's finally time
to update "Back to the Roots" (http://www.back2roots.org)
again - and this is another massive update!

With permission from "Reakktor Media" we can offer you
"Subtrade", a brilliant M.U.L.E. clone. Other new games
are e.g. Conquest of the Longbow, Zeppelin, Blastar,
Seek and Destroy, Zool 1+2 (HD), Banshee (HD) and many
more.

Then we added 20 AGA demos, 20 ECS demos, 40 PC demos,
50 Amiga game tunes, 100 demoscene tunes and 70 scene
pictures. A lot of stuff for you to download, isn't it?

Hello BTTR friends,

"Back to the Roots" (http://www.back2roots.org) is far
away from being dead. We are happy to announce that our
traffic problems are fixed, as we now have a dedicated
server in norway. A new problem which occured, IDSA the
site terminators, tried to shut us down behind our back.
We believe we fixed that issue, but unfortunately they
don't have the culture to respond email communication
they initiated themselves, so we decided to update and
not let you all wait for them further. Read more about
their attack on our news page.

Two new companies are supporting our project. From Soft
Enterprises we can offer you the addictive puzzle games
"Brain Artifice" and "Cube-X". Nightmare Productions
are the creators of the rpg game "Antares". Other new
games are: The entire "Premier Manager" series, Venus
the flytrap, Switchblade 2, Colossus Bridge X, Alien
Syndrome and more.

60 new scene demos from groups like Fairlight, Haujobb,
Scoopex, Ambrosia, Cocoon or The Black Lotus have been
added, while 150 new brilliant scene and game pictures
were included to our pics-archive.

We're pleased to announce, that the famous games
musician Andrew Barnabas has agreed to make his classic
tunes (e.g. SWIV or Double Dragon III) available in our
music section. And there are over 100 other new tunes
from various composers ready for download. And last but
not least we'd like to notify you about two new reviews
of Melcom's great Audio CDs.

Hello BTTR friends,

BTTR downloads now disabled 2/3 of each day!

Our archive files will only be available for download from
05:00 to 12:00 GMT (may vary), but they should work at full
speed then. We are not happy about this, but unless we find
some sponsors, we have to prevent our archive from being closed
down by this action. If we find we can extend the times outward
more, we will.

The entire content of the site (except all downloads, fullsize
pictures and the mod player) will continue to work the entire
day. The same applies to the Aminet downloads, as they are not
stored on these servers.

If you are willing to help us by either donating money to pay
parts of our traffic, by purchasing targeted advertising at our
site or by providing us a fast dedicated *nix server somewhere
else, please contact traffic@back2roots.org.

Several thousand people visit this site each day, and create
the enormous traffic together. Some download more, some download
less. It would be nice if a few of you could also help us to keep
this monster comfortable for people of all time zones.

Many of you have surely noticed that most of the gaming archive
sites were closed down recently. These sites all paid their
traffic by advertising. So did we. However, this does not work
for archive sites anymore, since advertising prices dropped
horribly worldwide.

We have several ideas in the queue to find an income to finance
this site for your convenience. Just none which will work fast
enough. So please also contact us if you want to provide temporary
help.

To all companies who have licensed games to be offered at our
site for free: BTTR will continue to be a non profit project,
and we did never earn a single pence with it, and we will
continue to do so.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Hopefully with better news soon, yours
