| Back to the Roots - Mission statement |
...a long time ago. Far far away in a distant galaxy. We have the early nineties and the Amiga is the best, most famous and most successful computer. All the software companies are supporting this computer as much as possible and the entire world is enjoying all their games, their tools and all the great things from the demo scene.
Now we have the late nineties. Things have changed a lot and only a few people are still supporting the classic Amigas. The Amiga 500 has gone from us years ago and nobody should forget all the great games and other things, which were made for this excellent computer.
For this, BTTR was brought to life and this site is dedicated to the Amiga - the greatest computer ever. Nobody should forget this masterpiece of computer technology, because it has brought us so many years of real fun and we hope, that this site will give you a little bit of this wonderful nostalgic feeling and bring some old memories back. Also new users should notice, that they have missed a powerful machine full of magic.
Time, and the power of the GNU freeworkers community has given us a way to run Amiga programs via emulation on about any other platform, which, that's our believe, helped the Amiga culture and friends a lot to survive the strategies of big brother bill. Many Amigans have moved over to PC or own one additionally (for internet stuff), that's why all files here are ZIP archives, which mostly contain ADF disks images.
Many Companies are supporting this site by giving us permission to upload their old commercial titles, and so you will find some of the best Amiga Games here, for download at no cost. Many sections are dedicated to both demo scenes - the Amiga and the PC scene, such as Pictures, Music and of course a lot of the best Demos which were ever made.
We hope, that you enjoy this site as much as we have enjoyed to create it. Keep the spirit alive! |
