Croteam LLC. - Company Review (April 2000):Projects:
At the end of 1994 a soccer game was released, similar to Sensible Soccer. The graphics looked like Sensible Soccer, the sprites had the same size, but the playability was even better. Many new, funny features were added to the well known gameplay. The players could say something to the referee, the fans had various animations, the soccer teams could do much more than there brothers in Sensible Soccer - this game was a hit! It was called Football Glory and was made by a new development team - Croteam.

A few years later, Croteam released an indoor version of this game and it was called Five-A-Side Soccer and it still makes a lot of fun. The idea to play the indoor version of soccer was really great and it gave you a total different feeling of playing soccer games. In 1996 Croteam also made a game called Save the Earth for a local TV show.

The current project in development of Croteam is called Serious Sam, a damn fine looking high adrenaline arcade 3D shooter in the style of Doom. The game is named after the character Serious Sam, a superhero. Sam 'travels' through various countries, a space station and many other planets. The 3D engine features everything, what a good engine needs today - Mirrors and portals, an advanced particle system, photorealistic reflections, high polygon count and multiresolution meshes as well as all other important things. The engine were programmed to show huge indoor and outdoor levels and the first screenshots are looking very impressive. It will be a game, which we haven't seen since the release of Doom 1+2! A release date is not sure yet, but I'm looking forward to the first previews and reviews in one of the games magazines.

The latest infos, screenshots and more information can be found on the Croteam website.
