15 Oct 1999 - Back to the Roots V2.06New stuff:
Surprise surprise - and I still can't believe it - but it's the truth! Core Design - the Lara Croft company - has given their ok! Yes - we're now allowed to upload their old Amiga games - some of the best games, which were ever made for the Amiga! I would like to thank especially Dan for making this possible. We're starting with three games from Core Design: The brilliant action-adventure Darkmere. This game is very complex, has great graphics and a great story. Premiere is ready for download too. It's a great Jump 'n Run game with cool graphics and music. It also has a great intro sequence.

The other new games are also worth a look. At first there's Mindfighter, a thrilling text-adventure. Balls is a nice mind game, with good music. Baum the game is a two player Thrust clone, Der rasende Reporter is an excellent german advertising game and Wibble World Giddy is a funny Dizzy clone. Dithell's Wonderland is a good Jump 'n Run, which was made with AMOS and which was requested. Hirnriss and Pick a Brick are something for your brain, Power Battle is another Thrust clone, but in commercial quality. The last new game is another action game from Fez Productions and is called Sector One.

On my nostalgic trip during the last days I found some excellent old ECS demos and I hope you like them too. Crayon Shinshan, Decaying Paradise and Digital Innovation are great demos. Substance is another great demo and was made by Quartex (yes - they didn't only crack games :). Legalise It and Loony Tunes are two great music disks, while Museum and Prism are two excellent slideshows. The last new addition to the ECS demos section is the famous diskmag The Charts #13 from Ram Jam.

I would like to thank Ant from Borrowed Time very much for all. A big surprise is coming soon, and you should visit this site regularly. And listen to the new music in the mod popup window. The tune is called "Unreal Superhero", it is dedicated to the famous coder Unreal from Pulse and the tune was composed by Radix.

And last but not least: A new version of WinUAE has just been released (0.8.8 R8). What a magic number. See the release notes below

IMPORTANT: If you already downloaded the new release of WinUAE, then download it again. Brian King released a refresh build, which *should* fix the comet-effects from dragging windows, and also provide a speed increase.
