22 Oct 1999 - Back to the Roots V2.07New stuff:
Today we're very happy to present you some more excellent Amiga games - games which have written history. During the last week I was contacted by Mutation Software and they allowed us to upload all their Amiga games. Many thanks for that! In the past Mutation Software created the funny jump 'n run game Doodlebug for Core Design and of course this game is now online here. Same with their first two games - Bug Bash, the prequel to Doodlebug and Nucleus, a difficult but good shoot 'em up - they are now available here too. Tin Toy Adventure is another jump 'n run game, but only for AGA computers (and emulators). It features wonderful graphics together with a thrilling gameplay and it's one of the last titles from Mutation Software. For the adventure freaks Curse of Enchantia was uploaded, another milestone from Core Design.

Mark Sheeky is the founder and head of Scorpius Software. In the past he programmed some of the best PD games. Now he's making excellent commercial games and we would like to thank him very much for his great games too. And here are more of his games: Hideous is a Turrican alike game, Liberator is a shoot 'em up and Task Force is a good science fiction role playing game. Probably two of his best games are Hilt and Hilt 2. Both games are a mixture of strategy and rpg elements - they remind me a little bit of Blue Byte's pc game Incubation. Both games are well designed and have very complex missions wich will motivate you for weeks! Especially Hilt 2 is a real masterpiece.

As mentioned in an earlier update, Mark Sheeky is also a very talented musician. All of his games are also worth listening and for this a huge Mark Sheeky update made it's way into the Music section. Nearly all his game tunes can now be found here. Of course other new game tunes are available too. Only two new mods were added to the Demo-Music section, but one of them is the endpart music of the great Switchback demo. Yes - it's the Prodigy remix from Chromag, which is played during the outstanding rollercoaster ride. Special thanks to Dominic Holmes for providing this music. By the way - if you have ModPlug installed you are already listening this tune!

Scene freaks should have a look at Scene.org which is probably the biggest demo resource in the net after the Hornet Archive. You'll always find the new party releases there, together with the old demos.

And finally, the CDs section was updated too, where some of the best Audio CDs from the computer and gaming industry are presented. Now you'll find there more CDs from Chris Hülsbeck, Mark Knight and many other well known persons from the game and demo scene.
