07 Nov 1999 - Back to the Roots V2.09New stuff:
Today is a great day for the Amiga (emulation) scene, because one of the world's leading publishers and developers allowed us to upload their old games - Sierra!!! Sierra was well known in the past for their adventure games and today they're publishing amazing games like Half Life or Homeworld and currently they are working on new adventure bestsellers as for example Gabriel Knight 3. Please read more about them in our Sierra Review or visit the official Sierra homepage.

So we have a huge Sierra update for you and we start with the famous King's Quest series, which were designed by Roberta Williams. All parts from King's Quest I - Quest for the Crown to King's Quest V - Absence makes the heart go yonder are now available here for download. Also there's a second version of King's Quest I available - the Sierra 10th anniversary edition. This version has better graphics, better music and a new and more comfortable interface than the original version. Sierra has redone this version for their 10th anniversary a few years ago. Both Manhunter titles - Manhunter: New York and Manhunter 2: San Francisco were uploaded too and were created by Evryware for Sierra. These games are thrilling dark science fiction adventure games with some bloody graphics... So take care!

Please note: These games are NOT freeware! Sierra still owns all the rights! Permission was exclusively granted to Back to the Roots to offer their games for download, and so any further redistribution is illegal.

We're also very happy to present you some of the best games, which were ever written using AMOS. Carnage is one of the best multiplayer games available. It's similar to Extreme Violence, which is also available here, but has better graphics and extras. Dr. Strange 2 is the sequel to the great jump 'n run "The unusual case of Dr. Strange". Megaball - definitely the best Breakout game on earth - is now ready for download too. Total Excess is a cool shoot 'em up. The graphics look very similar to Project-X!!! Wiz 2 is a fantastic Jump 'n Run game with amazing music, which I could listen all day long. Attention for all racing fans: Play Hyper Race! This game looks like the commercial game Nitro from Psygnosis and brings as much fun, as the commercial one! And Road to Hell is another excellent racing game. I would say it IS the best Freeware overview racing game ever! Test it and you'll love it.

The last new addition for this update is a savedisk for Burntime. Thanks to Joakim for creating it! This is all for this update. Soon you can expect more games from Sierra and from the other companies, which are part of the Sierra family. Have a nice day!
