03 Dec 1999 - Back to the Roots V2.13New stuff:
Welcome to the first update in December and again we're happy to present you some highlights, because Mr. Larry Laffer has his premiere here at BTTR. Together with him you can now search for the perfect woman in the four parts of the Leisure Suit Larry series. Leisure Suit Larry 1-5 are available. Don't worry about a missing fourth part. It doesn't exist!!! It was only a joke from the Larry Father Al Lowe. Chuck Rock won't let his son alone experiencing the BTTR world, therefore you can play ol' daddys adventures now too.

Did you ever know, that the famous real-time strategy game Warcraft II - Tides of Darkness also exists for the Amiga? And that this game is PD??? It's called Battle Craft, looks very similar and makes as much fun as the original. A milestone!!! And don't forget to play the adventure game Lord of Alcandria. It's an excellent game, looks fantastic and is as good as the Lucas Arts adventures (and this is no joke!). Cross Country is a high speed overview Jump 'n Run game and also this game is presented in full commercial quality. These three PD games are HD-only games.

Shoot 'em up fans should have a good joystick, because the next games are some of the best Freeware shoot 'em up games for the Amiga. Assimilation is not easy to control, but makes a lot of fun and has a wonderful soundtrack. A-Type is an R-Type clone with a size of just 32kb and with fantastic music by Pink/Abyss. Probably the best Freeware shoot 'em up game is Starbirds, which features huge levels and hundreds of extra weapons. Thanks to Sam Jordan, the coder of this game. It's a pleasure to speak with you.

Two cute games are coming from Pink/Abyss too. Rise of the Rabbits is a Dynablaster clone with graphics from Cyclone/Abyss. Rise of the Rabbits 2 is a wonderful Jump 'n Run game in Mario style and was done completely by Pink on his own. Another cool Jump 'n Run is Wizio, the prequel to "Wiz 2" and this game was made by Mr. E Software. Sheep shooter is a very funny cross hair action game with Sheeps, No Mercy 99 a thrilling 3D action adventure game made with the 3D construction kit and Moria a great and complex rpg game (hope all the requestors are now happy). Kak is another RPG game, but totally different, because it looks like Zelda or other japano rpgs. And can you remember this super fast scrolling shoot 'em up level from Turrican 2? Hyper Drive is a game where you have to guide your ship only through those fast scrolling labyrinths.

Also it's really great that El Mobo, the musician formerly known as Moby, has allowed us to put all his great game musics online. This is now also the reason, why you can listen to a new piece of music in the pop-up mod player. It's the title tune from "Fascination", which he has composed. Moby has released his first Audio CD with his band Plug-In this year and fans from Moby's typical music style (funky, groovy, well arranged) will love this CD! You can order it directly from El Mobo's homepage. Also I have added some short CD reviews to the music CD section with infos about Melcom's new CD "Jagged - Transformers", the "Back in Time 2" CD and "Audiophonik", the new perl for all scene music freaks.

Not only Moby's game mods can now be found in the music section, also new tunes from great musicians like FBY, Melcom, Marwin, Aud, Corrosion, Nork or Racoon, as well as many other new tunes. Also in the picture section is new stuff available. Graphics from Titan, X-man, Orome or Metin Seven were included. And the Review for the famous artist Lowlife was updated too. Enjoy this trip!
