Good day ladies and gentlemen,
we're glad to announce some new permissions for classic Amiga games: First of all, Jester Interactive have granted permission for putting the legendary games from Andrew Braybrooks' and Steve Turners' company Graftgold online. From now on we can offer you Fire and Ice, Paradroid 90, Uridium 2 and Virocop for download, wich are all milestones in the computer gaming history.
Then there was added the fantastic racing game XTreme Racing, which is some kind of F-Zero for the Amiga. Thanks to Alex Amsel from Tuna Technologies (formerly called Siltunna Software) for making this download possible. We also have to say thanks to Christian Morant, who's the programmer of the games Alien Legion, and the good looking and sounding platform-action game Death Trap, as well as to Glen Cumming for the cool Chaos Engine clone Alien Bash II. If you like Doom alike games, so you'll probably have some fun with Gloom Deluxe and Gloom Special Edition 97, which were published by Acid Software.
The sad part of this update is, that the demo group and software company Muffbusters from Hungary were never paid by their publisher Black Legend for their games Fatman and Logic, so the contract was never valid. The good news are, that Muffbusters have agreed to put their games online at BTTR. Also the creators of the shoot'em up Air Supply never received all royalties from their publisher Magic Bytes and they're happy to see this game online here, too. This huge games updated is completed with Beast Busters, which is a very hard to find game from Activision, Castle of Dr. Brain from Sierra and the impressive PD game Rags, which features a great graphic style, which remembers a lot on the old games from the Bitmap Brothers.
Demos:
The scene is sleeping at the moment. Not many new releases came out, because the big and important scene parties are a bit later this year. Nevertheless the first really cool PC-production in 2001 has been released: Holiday with President by MFX. Of course not only this PC-demo was added. Most of the other new downloadable releases are nice productions from the past two years, which are still nice to watch and haven't been included to our archive, yet.
The same can be said about the AGA and ECS demos. New, good releases are very rare at the moment, so we've uploaded some cool stuff from the past. Especially the AGA demos Rayworld, Assault and Touching are very good. Btw - the demo Nop was made by Muffbusters, who were already mentioned above.
Music & Pics:
Adam Scorpik Skorupa is one of the best scene-musicians and he's currently composing music for computer games. We wanted to know from him how he found his way into the scene, why it's fascinating to compose music for scene productions and on which projects he's currently working. Please read our interview, which we did with Scorpik, as well as the reviews about the two CDs, which he has released with his band Aural Planet.
New modules are available from Substance, Juler and Skyzol in the scene-music section and in the game-music section are available tunes from the games Lotus II, Super Cars II, Disposable Hero and Starbirds. Special thanks to Rick Hoekman, Sam Jordan and A.V. for supporting BTTR.
New scene-pictures are coming from Cyberhawk, Danube, Der Punkt among others, while the game-pics-section was updated with many pictures from newer Amiga games like Virtual Ball Fighters, Codename Hell Squad, Bubble Heroes, Joyride and others.
Tip:
Great news for the emulation community. The fabulous legal Amiga emulation website Borrowed Time is finally back. Our friend Ant, the person behind this project, has added lots of interesting stuff again including games and apps, and also updated the very interesting "back to the past" project and more!. Take a look or you'll miss a lot!
