Site-News:       Onsite and offsite links!
As you can see we have redesigned the News page to give you a better overview of the increasing amount of services we offer. We hope you like it!
As always we have collected a bunch of new links in our Webdir for you.

Besides these we are proud to announce a new hosted site for you: EAGER (Every Amiga Game Ever Released), a comprehensive database of Amiga games created and maintained by our new team member John Burns. In future EAGER, now located at eager.back2roots.org, and BTTR will share infos and files, which both projects surely will benefit from. Thanks John!

In cooperation with Janis Kracht from the IFDC FileGate Project we now have a partial (Amiga only) mirror of the FileGate archive online on our FTP. Filegate collects all files via Fidonet, so we are now connected to the Amiga binary output of FidoNet as well. Currently we mirror the Amiga File Distribution Network (ADS) and the Amiga section of GamesNet International as well as the FileGate info section. Thanks Janis!

Game-News:       Break the highscore!
For consistency we moved all CD-Games to our new CDs main section (see below).
The kind people over at Team 17 permitted us to upload three of their games: Full Contact, Project-X and Superfrog. Enjoy these games from a legendary Amiga company for free!

The former CEO of Extase, Boris Mechow, enabled us to put their Amiga games online. Karawane der 7. Dynastie (German RPG on 4 disks) is even an Internet premiere! Projekt Prometheus is a tricky adventure with a text interface and expressive graphics.

The UK licenseware author Andrew Campbell, maker of the popular Dawn 3D RPG series granted us permission to upload his games. We start with Legions of Dawn and Thunderdawn.

Demo-News:       Get a visual orgasm!
We reorganized our Demos section to be more cross platform friendly. You can now browse the AGA, ECS, Win32, DOS, Java and Flash demos separately.
Many brilliant Win32-Demos have been released lately. fr-025: the popular demo, fr-030: Candytron, Pocket Safari and World Domination are really kicking ass with their cool graphics, effects and soundtrack. Don't forget to download Zoom 3, an intro with a fantastic Kreed alike 3D-engine!

The same applies to the AGA-Demos. Enjoy Jenna loves Ephidrena and from Spaceballs the Fake Elektronik Lightshow and Timur Lenk. Nature's One and of course Magia from TBL make your Amiga or emulator melt away, due to their technical brilliance.

Of course we have not forgotten ECS-Demo freaks, a bunch of new additions is waiting for you.

Tool-News:       Show that you're productive!
The first Tools license for this update comes from Datel Electronics, their most famous Amiga product was the Action Replay freezer cartridges. We can now legally offer you the ROM images of the Action Replay MKI - MKIII cartridges which you may use in a recent WinUAE, as well as Burstnibbler, the disk version of the famous copy software normally stored in the ROM. Sample Studio is the software which came with one of Datel's audio sampler hardware. Full usage is only possible with the actual hardware, but some functions work without it.

Our second license was granted by Emile Tobenfeld (aka. Dr. T) who ran Dr. T's Music Software. We can present MIDI Recording Studio which should be used in conjunction with a MIDI device, such as a keyboard. Boom Box is one of these musical programs for folks who cannot read notes. You can easily mix your own tracks and can later listen to them with a bombastic looking stereo.

Disk-News:       Hunters and collectors!
We have hundreds new disks online for you, this update primarily focusing on Doc-Disks and Mag-Disks.

Most of these disks are already online since the last update, we just forgot to announce them in the news so we do so now.

Many of these disks have been collected by users of the Amiga community portal abime.net (the sanctuary of amiga addicts), and the maintainer RCK kindly forwarded them to us for inclusion in our archive.

Big thanks to RCK for previously hosting these disks and for moving them over to back2roots.org!

Radio-News:       Tune in and enjoy!
Our Mod-Radio was entirely reworked and is now an own Radio main section. The channels are now listed in BTTR download box style and an own channel search engine has been implemented.
Listen to new radio channels!

As you've already read in the CD-News we added 9 new music CDs, containing about 20.000 new mods, all of these are now accessible through our radio!

From Lotek Style's enormous Fading Twilight Atari music collection we formed 4 new main channels, additionally the Bonus channel has been splitted in 6 further sub channels.

Two further channels in the Misc section cover the Da Capo mod collection by Danny Amor and the Monstro mod compilation freeCD by Eduardo Motta Buhrnheim.

Finally we started to split the 4 Aminet main channels in 4 new subchannel categories with more specific sorting of the 4 topics. There's now a separate channel for each directory on Aminet, sorted in the categories Authors, Genres, Formats and Collections. Note that Aminet radio is highly experimental due to the unverified nature of all uploads.
