Ascaron (formerly known as Ascon) - a german company - made some great trading simulations for the Amiga. They released the game Der Patrizier (english title: The Patrician) in 1992. The graphics and the gameplay are excellent and so is the music which was composed by Rudolf Stember.
A remake of the classic game Hanse was made by this company too, and Elisabeth I. was another great game in the history of Ascaron. This historical trading simulation is playing in the year 1558 in Europe.
One of the first and best Formula one management simulations was developed by Ascaron too - Pole Position. It is a great simulation with excellent racing sequences.
I think the most famous game from Ascaron is Anstoss (english title: On the Ball). Every true soccer fan who also likes soccer managers should have played this game. No one has ever seen such great playing sequences before in a soccer manager program on Amiga. A sequel - called Anstoss 2 - is availlable for PC and it's still the best soccer manager program at all.
1998 was another great year for this company, because they have released the superb motor bike racing game Grand Prix 500ccm. Very realistic, good graphics (3dfx) - it's still one of the best games in this genre.
Now we're waiting for another masterpiece - Anstoss 3. Have a look at the screenshot to the right. This is not Fifa 99 or something else - this a screenshot from a soccer management game!!! The new features sound excellent (read more about this game on their homepage).
