Digital Illusions - a swedish company - has revolutionized the Amiga scene in 1992 with the first really playable pinball simulation Pinball Dreams. The table design is amazing, the ball physic 1:1 to a real pinball machine and the sound is in perfect harmony with each table. It was and is one of the best Amiga games ever. Later they released the sequel to Pinball Dreams - Pinball Fantasies. It was unbelievable, but this game was even better than the first one! Another milestone. I will especially never forget the excellent music from this game.
The swedish people also created a little PD game. Amiganoid is a wonderful Breakout clone, including a short preview for their upcoming games Hardcore and Benefactor. In 1994 Digital Illusions released another piece of Amiga history - Benefactor. It's a really cool platform game, distributed by Psygnosis. And Olof Gustaffson - the sound wizard - has show his talent again.
1995 was another great year for the Amiga, because Pinball Illusions was released. The first game from the famous pinball trilogy, which was only availlable for AGA computers. Three perfectly designed tables, excellent graphics and music - another dream for pinball freaks. Unfortunately this was the last Amiga release from Digital Illusions.
Meanwhile Digital Illusions are creating excellent games for PC and Consoles like PSX and N64. Their favourite type of games are meanwhile racing games. Motorhead has shown the graphic power of their 3D engine in 1998. The graphics of this game are still amazing - even without a 3dfx card! Their new game - Rally Masters - seems to be the Colin McRae Rally killer. The graphics are the bests, which I've ever seen in an racing game. I'm sure this game will be another chart breaker and another milestone in the history of Digital Illusions.
