Dynamix - Company Review:Projects:
When simulation or adventure freaks will hear the name Dynamix, they'll get excited. This company, which is now part of the Sierra family, has released so many great simulations for Amiga and PC since 1990. In 1990 they've started with the game A-10 Tank Killer, about the tank killer aircraft with the nick name "Warthog". More action related simulations were the science-fiction games Nova 9 and Stellar 7, which looked very beautiful on the Amiga with its stunning vector-graphics engine. Their biggest success in the flight simulation genre was the World War I settled game Red Baron. Still today it's a great game and one of the most realistic flight sims of its kind.

Probably their most famous titles on the Amiga side are their adventure games. Both Heart of China and Rise of the Dragon feature impressive graphics. Some of the best, which we've ever seen on an Amiga 500. The stories of both games were thrilling. Only the puzzles and the gameplay itself weren't so well designed as in the games from the big adventure companies like Lucas Arts. Nevertheless, Dynamix earned a lot of fame with these games and also their third big adventure project - the cartoonish styled Willy Beamish.

Nowadays they've lost a bit of the quality, for which they were so well known in the past. Titles like the 3D Pinball series are nice to play, but nothing special. Also they're developing the Trophy Bass Fishing and Trophy Hunting series for their mother company Sierra. Games, which are very popular in the United States. Both series have seen its fourth generation in the year 2000.

But there's still one title left which keeps Dynamix in the top range of game developers today: Tribes! A multiplayer only 3D-action game with stunning graphics and landscapes and lots of exciting weapons. Many clans were born who have fun in the impressive world of Tribes. This game got many awards like the "Online Action/Strategy Game of the Year 1999"! The sequel called Tribes 2 is currently in development and it looks so good! I've never seen a more impressive graphics engine in an online game before. The level editor will come with the final game and Dynamix guarantees, that everyone can build cool levels within some minutes with this easy to use editor. We'll see how addicting Tribes 2 will be...
