Eclipse was founded as developing company by the famous German programmer Marc Rosocha in 1990. Their first job was to convert the C64 classic The Last Ninja to 16 bit computers. This game is known as Last Ninja Remix. The company is also famous for their brillant shoot 'em up Lethal Xcess which got good reviews in the press.
After some more 16 bit games Eclipse turned over to the Atari Jaguar which was the first 64 bit console on the marked. For this system they developed the impressive 3D robots game Iron Soldier. But a great part of you probably already knows that Atari was not able to place the Jaguar on the market. This is why the company ran in some risks but fortunately it survived this crisis.
Their latest title is Iron Soldier 3 which is available for the Playstation. Of course there is also an Eclipse Internet page, however, there is only very basic information on it. |
