Among Chris Huelsbeck and Rudolf Stember, Jochen Hippel was the best german computer musician of all time. He was active until 1992, when he composed his last tunes - the musics for Amberstar. In 1991 he released his one and only music CD - Give it a try, which you should really give a try, even if this album is only available on a Gold-Copy CD now.
On this CD you'll find three tracks from Dragonflight, a role playing game with an atmospheric fantasy soundtrack, which let you feelt he culture of a foreign world. One of Jochen's best tunes - the title music for Thalion's shoot em up game Wings of Death - was also included. The perfectly arranged tune features the dark, diabolic voice from Richard Karsmakers. It gives this tune a very special, evil touch. Outstanding track!
Also included was a never released tune for the game No second prize or the "Bittner-Rap" - a rap song dedicated to Michael Bittner, the famous programmer from Thalion, who works today for Synetic.
Of course that's not all - this album contains much more great tunes. Unfortunately I have to mention, that some of Jochen's most famous tunes like the music from Chambers of Shaolin or Lethal Xcess can't be found on Give it a try and my hope to see a second album from Jochen Hippel, was never fulfilled. Nevertheless already the Wings of Death and Dragonflight musics are making this CD to a must have for everyone. | Give it a try Cover
