The first game, which was released by Neo Software - a famous company from Austria - was the great mixture of science fiction, roleplaying, adventure and economy simulation - Whale's Voyage (1993). Another well known title from them is The Clou! (1994), a brilliant burglary simulation with some adventure elements.
Prototype was a great shoot 'em up - only available on CD-Rom and with great music from the boss of Neo Software, Hannes Seifert (he's a great composer too! You can order Audio CD's from Whale's Voyage and Burntime directly from the Neo Software homepage). A real masterpiece for the Amiga was the best beat 'em up which was ever made for the Amiga - Fightin' Spirit (1996). It really looks like a Neo Geo game, but it's 100% Amiga only!
Other Amiga games from Neo Software are Black Viper, Spherical Worlds, the brilliant second part of the Whale's Voyage saga and Cedric, a great platform action adventure which was made by the well known demo group Alcatraz (which have made demos like Odyssey, Ilyad or Cyberlogik). PC only products are Dark Universe - a science fiction economy simulation, Mutation of J.B, a funny comic adventure and Rent a Hero - a wonderful fantasy adventure with excellent graphics, animations and an amazing soundtrack (hello Mr. Seifert - I would like to buy an Audio CD!!!).
A great settlers style game has just been released, called Die Voelker (english title: Alien Nations). Wonderful graphics and great gameplay are the best features of this game, which was brought to life together with JoWooD Productions. The current Neo Software project is the sequel to The Clou! I think the entire world has waited for a second part and it will be a realtime 3D burglary simulation.
