The friendly people at Papyrus Design Group are creating the most realistic racing simulations of all time. Located in Watertown, Massachusetts they're at the perfect place to get the right inspirations for creating new masterpieces.
All has started in 1989/90 when they have released Indianapolis 500 for the Commodore Amiga and PC. Not only the computer magazines rated this perfect simulation of the famous 500 miles race very high, also the computer freaks liked this game very much. It was definitely the most realistic racing game, which was released at this time.
In the following years they released Indycar Racing, Nascar Racing, Indycar Racing 2 and Nascar Racing 2. All these games featured even better graphics, more courses and of course a better and more realistic handling than all their games before (it sounds unbelievable, but it's the truth).
The true racing simulation highlight in 1997 was Grand Prix Legends, a simulation of the good old days of the racing sport in 1967. The handling of the cars was difficult, but of course realistic and with each hour of playing the lap times got faster. Especially the replay function was excellent. Where did we ever see such 'nice' crashs with more thrilling camera positions?
Another program available from Papyrus Design Group is Nascar Racing 1999, which is the best Nascar racing product at the moment.
At the moment Papyrus Design Group has two hot wheels in the pipeline: Nascar Racing 3 and Nascar Legends.
Nascar Racing 3 has an amazing new 3D engine, with the most detailed cars i've ever seen and of course with all the courses and drivers of the current season.
With Nascar Legends we can jump back in time to feel again, how hard it was, to drive these old and difficult PS monsters. Thrilling fights to be the first one reaching the goal are features of both games.
