Comic stars like Garfield in Garfield - Big Fat Hairy Deal, Punisher, the, Snoopy and Peanuts always had an appearance on the computer screens. Responsible for their funny games was a company called The Edge. They've also developed a wide range of non-comic titles for nearly every available computer systems under their label SofTek or ACE. Alien Syndrome or the classic Soldier of Light are just two of them.
One of their own titles was Darius +. The Amiga conversion wasn't as good as the original coin-op game, but there are many worser shoot'em ups available. During the years The Edge bought the rights for more than hundred games from other games developers. One of them is Anco, from which they've aquired titles like the shoot'em up game XR-35 or Thai Boxing.
The Edge doesn't publish or create games any longer. Their last game was called Koala Lumpur: Journey to the edge, an interactive movie-adventure with nice graphics. Today they're well known for their wide range of excellent print magazines, which are very famous in US and UK. Their magazine list includes The Edge, Cutting Edge and some comic books, while their licensee "Edge-ware" produces clothes with their logos.
