Initial Music

About this site and our mission

The main purpose of this site is to keep the old memories alive in another way then just having games for download like many other sites have chosen to do so. The Soundtracks you find on this site are from games that cannot be purchased anymore and is slowly fading away on someone’s floppies or CD’s of the people that own them. If you were looking for any Amiga games, this website is not the place to be. If your looking for the main source of Amiga Soundtracks want to hear again, you have come to the right place. Our project is to help you keep the memories alive by giving the world access to them in a legal manner. We have literally dozens of original Amiga games, especially in the CDTV & CD32 department that is slowly fading out of existence. Our plan is to share the music around, and reverse the flow so the new generation who never experienced the Amiga can have a chance to catch some of the best of the past. Other reasons we run this site would have to be we enjoy this. We are having lots of fun competing against each others, trying to make the site better. Fact is we both like being creative and seeing something that you made possible is a real satisfaction for us both. We always love feedback! Initial Music is a huge project, and can only exist through the networking and support of friends. Be sure to let us know what you like, don’t like, or what you would do if you ran the place at our forum.

Our Inspiration

Back around 1998 Amiga music enthusiasts enjoyed such great sites as the famous Video games Music Preservation Archive, featuring the largest Amiga Mod collection ever. The demise of this site is somewhat a mystery. One the 07 Dec 1998 the site simple went offline without any warnings. It was speculated on various sites this was a temporarily problem and everything should be back to normal in the coming week or two. Yet we never heard from them again and it felt like a giant loss for the community.

The old “The Best Game Music in the World..Ever” was going stronger as ever, featuring rare Amiga Soundtracks and a wave of Mods, until it’s creator was having problems with the hosting so the site was transformed into an FTP index, until it too went offline around april 1999. Today these 2 giant are missed, and we have yet to see a site successfully take over it’s place after all these years. This is why we have begun our project of becoming the mainstream source of Amiga Mods and MP3 Soundtracks for fans to enjoy like they did once before.
